Cork and Butcher Kitchen

This project transformed a dark, segmented kitchen into a bright, open, and inviting space. The original layout featured a center post that chopped up the room, a small island, and a refrigerator that protruded awkwardly. We reimagined the space with crisp white cabinetry paired with a striking black island, topped with a warm butcher block surface. A cork backsplash adds texture and an earthy, grounded feel, balancing the clean contrast of the cabinets. By opening the sightlines and raising the ceiling, the kitchen now feels expansive, functional, and welcoming—a space designed for both everyday living and memorable gatherings.
